Google will help make a
free website for Kentucky business owners that don't have a website at an event in Louisville.
On the page it says:
Small businesses across Kentucky are getting online through this free program from Google. Sign up and you'll receive:
- Free easy-to-build Intuit website
- Free customized domain name
- Free web hosting for one year
- Free online tools and training
Good or bad?
As it may seem, a good thing for the Kentucky businesses that dont have a website yet, but is that true?
What kind of site does Google put up for those businesses? Is it a good website that is build 100% according to the Google guidelines and does it have all the SEO things in it to rank?
If that is the case than what to think of all those business owners that would get less visitors because of the better ranking for the Google freebies?
And what about an SEO that would get a site build with all the yummy features and crisp details in it? Wouldnt he be favoured above all others? O what a lucky one he would be.
And two of the same businesses that would like to get such a site, would Google build it for both of them or just for one?
And what if the site aint working and is not delivering what is promised?
Google in my opinion has stuck its head into a beehyve with this event. As a search engine it should stay away from situations it could be compromised in and this is one of them.
